Now back to Drouin, because unlikely trades are all we have to hope for this year...

I'd be willing to give up a prime piece like Bigras or Zadorov. We don't have prospect depth on the wings and the magic Drouin made with Mack in that Mem cup still resonates.

Bigras and Zads should be and to me are untouchable. The way they are producing int he AHL (Bigras .5ppg, Zads .65ppg), they are the real deal. At no point should they be moved, especially for a LW.

Those 2 will be legit Top 4 Dmen for the team in the not so distant future, moving them would just create a huge organizational hole.

Avs dont have issues scoring goals (8th best offence in the league right now). They have issues with shot suppression and moving the puck from the back end. Like Drouin but he shouldn't be moved for one of those Dmen.

If Stevie Y is smart, he'll wait until the draft to trade Drouin. He'll have more options and the Cap won't be as big of an issue.

I think the draft is the best bet too. Teams might be more willing to part with their 1st round pick if Player X isnt on the board anymore and they value Drouin more over whats left, or if Tampa is high on someone on the board and would move Drouin to get that pick.

I cannot see a move for Drouin given Roy's penchant for size. The Av's signed Soderberg, Comeau, Martinsen, Skille ... all 6" 200+ guys. I would fully suspect that any assets given up would be for size either up front or on the blue line and any FA dollars spent in the off-season will be for size/maturity (Ladd, Buff, Boedeker, Goligoski).
